Hi,

It depends upon the job but the kit I most commonly use during mastering is...

Hardware
Genelec 8030A Monitors
Genelec 5040A Sub
Solid State Logic G Series Compressor
Apple PowerMac G5
Analouge Tape to Tape Reel (Bit of a pain in the arse but sounds great for adding saturation & warmth)

Software
Duende Native Solid State Logic
Sound Forge Pro 10
Waves Center

As with most engineers my studio is an ever evolving thing, at some point soon I hope to achieve an entirely analogue mastering chain (I'm around 50/50 atm) :)

Do you guys know how to master to vinyl also?
ChickenDippaz
Hey, sorry just seen your question!

Yer I've done mastering for vinyl in the past and am well versed in the methods most common for best results, although it can depend on who's cutting the vinyl as to the exact specs they need to work with but in general I'll do a MS Mastering to ensure I'm getting true mono on my low frequencies.

Have had a great response to these couple of post, many thanks for your interest!

Nicky
OOPS!
You mixdown as well?
ChickenDippaz
