Where to invest now?

Hey guys,

I know some of you here watch the markets quite closely and would perhaps have some advice on this query. I'm looking for a place to park my money. Short term, 6-12 months. Does anyone know any decent money managers that will work with someone looking to invest around 40k?

Open for discussion but PM's are welcome.

Thanks

Thanks but im not looking for stock picks. More of a balanced approach. Already played the markets a fair bit and need someone else to look after my money.

For $40k I'd evaluate your risk find something low maintenance to stick your money in directly. As easy as it seems to hand it off to someone to manage you really won't see much of a return for 6-12 months unless you go high risk and get lucky. You'll find a guy who will put you in mutual funds that make 8% in a year, 2.5% of that will go to the fund manager, another chunk to your manager, then you get the leftovers which will be comparable to a GIC. For that amount/term I'd stick it in an index fund and keep it simple.

The US dollar seems like a good bet to me.

How does 5% sound? It's like a GIC.

PM me if you want more details.
