| Are you really threatening to call my parents because I made a sarcastic comment? Grow up. |

| No, I'm threatening to do it if you carry on arguing like a brat and turn this thread into another 25-page trainwreck. That's what will happen if you keep responding to perfectly reasonable posts like a . |

I made one comment man chill out. If it was so easy for European footballers to kick a football like that, then why don't older players come to the US and get multi-million dollar contracts to be kickers in the NFL?
I just don't think someone like David Beckham is necessarily an accurate portrayal of an "average" soccer player, even at this point in his career.
Yes, the kicking motion is essentially the same, but the ball is entirely different and thus (obviously) it is a completely different thing kicking a soccer ball 50 yards and kicking a football 50 yards. Have you ever kicked a football before? |

| You're not seriously scared of this guy calling your parents, are you Rusty?? |

Because they go across to the MLS and get multi-million dollar contracts to be Designated Players, instead.
I believe I'm correct in saying that kickers are generally the lowest paid players in a team anyway, that it's the only position in American football where foreign players are common, and that the highest-paid kicker in the NFL is European and has a background in soccer.
Beckham is obviously better than average, but kicking the ball 50+ yards is quite a common practise amongst defensive players, especially goalkeepers. |

Also I'd never expect some Brit to have any idea of how much harder it is to kick a football than a soccer ball...
And 50 yards AND between two uprights...
AND a regular dude doing it...
Really easy... |

| It's by far the easiest way to earn a million dollars I've ever heard. |

I've seen how untalented the CFL is live. Man, it's a trainwreck :p
And Srussell you keep bringing up the 'football' argument but kicking a rugby ball which is the same shape means that you know 'where' to get it. Also if you want to wear an irish flag, stop speaking 'wrong' english :) Football = Football. NFL = Not Football League. |

Could you kick a pigskin from 50 (real) yards through two uprights? |

| Real football isn't all that popular in Ireland. :o |
