JUBILEE (Hidden Recordings, Set Artists DC)
Since 2001, Jubilee has been creating impressionable sounds in the DC area via Casa Blanca, becoming one of North America’s premier up and coming artists in the process. Between his captivating live performances and memorable DJ sets, Jubilee has created quite a following in DC, earning credibility with the city’s top clubs.
Jubilee has put together successful events with pal Gabriel Rojas, at established venues like EDEN ROOFTOP SUMMER EVENTS and THE WAREHOUSE / THE LOFT along with a regular ( NAPOLEON , U ST MUSIC HALL ) residency at the popular event AUDIOLOGY . He has booked and played with the top and global talents such as Stephan Bodzin, Marc Romboy, seuil, till von sein, Kate Simko, Ryan Crosson, Shaun Reeves, Ewan Pearson, Pantha du Prince, Nicolas Jaar and Nick Curly to name a few.
In 2010, Jubilee launched his production career with the critically acclaimed release “Dopamine” for New York City based Hidden Recordings. Label owner Deepak Sharma was so impressed with Jubilee’s work that he has him slated for a new EP in 2011 on Hidden as well as an upcoming remix. Jubilee’s previous work has also appeared on Mexico City’s Blaq Records and the esteemed Mo’s Ferry imprint and he has a busy schedule for the remainder of this year with a release and remix planned for Blaq in addition to his work for Hidden.
It’s becoming more evident each day that the more you follow Jubilee the more you’ll see it’s not just about the music, it’s a total dedication to the art form – making him one of the most exciting new American dance music artists to emerge in the new decade.
Born in NYC, bought his technics 1200's & Vestax mixer at age 14 with his own savings. Taught himself the skill of beat matching and studied the art of blending tracks smoothly to perfection with persistence. Began producing music in 1999 and, to this day, music production is done under the name "Craft Music Productions". He dj's 5 to 10 times per month on average in the NYC underground minimal scene with the Twice as Proper Sessions crew. He evolved from the old Vinyl-only days to the CDJ’s of all types, and now performs live with his all-in-one DJ workstation M-Audio Torq Xponent. In 2010, Craft traveled with the controller to Europe for his Italy Dj tour in various cities, experienced an incredible Costa Rica DJ Tour with Onda Skillet covered by much media attention (major radio, TV and internet), and ended the year by playing at 8 events in Mexico. In 2011, Craft performed on the main stage at "The Works" during DEMF Movement 2011 Detroit techno festival, and has been approached by many labels at once. Craft co-created the NYC movement "Twice as Sweet" with Shadi which then became "Twice as Proper Sessions" with an impressive over 200 events and counting in the past 4 years alone with quite an illustrious list of guest DJ bookings. Also, Craft created and designed the "Party People" T-Shirt which has a history of its own...
Chosen to spin next to the finest, Dave Martin is DC's top talent who has worked his way to present the best taste in house, disco and minimal techno from his beginnings in Baltimore to his sets at U Street Music Hall, Sweet Spot, Fur, Ultrabar and many other DC staple electronic music venues. Now you can find him as a resident artist for "We Are Life", one of the District's top techno and disco events where he has spun next to the likes of Matt Tolfrey, Dyed Soundorom, Davide Squillace, M.A.N.D.Y. and Maya Jane Coles.
Dave's most recent summer 2011 set performances at Bar 13 in New York City have made him a favorite from the DMV area thanks to his refined and sophisticated style.
