| He has a new sample cd out, or new singles at least that are pretty good not cheesy at all imo, and the mixes of a lot of his tunes are great, plus Ive always had a spot for cheese in moderation, so he's ok by me. |

yes its what i like to call "commercial marketing bollocks" they give it a girly wirly look to sell records, when at the start it was two blokes and a vocalist (who was actually a better singer but she isnt even one of the girls in IVD anymore :stongue: ) there is an article sumwhere on the internet which explains that it is two blokes who makes the tracks, christoph chantzis and erik vanswa-sumthing. along with a vocalist called martine, who no longer sings. |

There was recently an article on Ian Van Dahl in "Dance Music Authority".
"Ian Van Dahl" basically means "John Doe" in Dutch. It means nothing. It's the same concept as "Alice Deejay". |

| I tend to enjoy Flutlicht's remix of Will I as well. |

negative :) maybe in German but certainly not in Dutch. 'Jan Janssen' may be the dutch equivalent of 'John Doe'.... either that, or Mohammad :) ;) |

I don't have a link to the DMA article... but as I recall Ian Van Dahl doesn't literally mean "John Doe" in Dutch, but stands for the Dutch version of a generic fake nameless name.
I don't know if the context of "John Doe" is universal, but in the US the name is used as a fake name when someone's identity is unknown.
Any comments from Dutch TA's? I'd be curious to find out if this is true. |

Ampburner... just re-read your post. Well, I suppose we will hear from an artist named "Jan Jansenn" someday.
Needless to say, Mr. Van Dahl is a non-existent entity. |

Guys why are u making such a hectic thing around "Ian van Dahl"
What dumondeTrancer said is the correct answer.
Christopher Chantsiz is the main guy behind the PROJECT, its just a project name for it.
Just like PRONTI & KALMANI made alice deejay and vengaboys songs.
MIKE makes PUSH, Plastic Boy, moon project songs.....
Christopher Chantsiz is also behind ASTROLINE, another PROJECT from him, he got some others...
I'm Belgian so be sure that I'm correct here.
PLZ never make a topic again about "Ian van Dahl"
And I mean About the name then...
/me gonna dload some porn right now |
