Listen to your tracks over and over again. Play your tracks over and over again in different combinations. Gradually determine which tracks work together and which don't. Allow this to become second nature. Make a mix.

Generally speaking (especially when you're first starting out) you want to be matching similarities within each track & that all comes from analysing as you go. You want to be listening for moods, type of kick drum & percussion, keys, bassline types, quantity of vocals (if any), overall levels of energy etc etc also obviously knowing the bpm helps;)

An easy exercise is to start with a slow track which features an intro & build a set which steadily increases the energy/tempo until you reach a big climax at the end.

The above is generic, but far from rare & a good place to start:)

Also don't overlook mixing techniques, as these can have a big impact on the flow of your set.

Three tips...

1. Don't underestimate the value of SILENCE.
2. Don't underestimate the value of SURPRISE.
3. A mistake is NOT a mistake if you learn from it.

Good luck:D

thx man this was kinda what i was looking for one more question when can u use a silence moment best? hard to firgure it out for me atm =/
