Straight from Transylvania, the land of Dracula, Alex Deep brings "Paradise" to Gooseneck Records. Currently based out of Los Angeles and led by Alistair Gillespie, Gooseneck promises to issue the latest and finest in deep, tech-house sounds. In this case, both the label and Alex branch out from the genre, taking us on a funkier journey. Already a trademark in Alex's sound, his cutting edge deep groovy beat, now combined with a classic house piano and soulful, old school vocal, make this a must have for house music followers.
Following on the release is a remix by the already established Gooseneck artists J.Pe Bruna & Marcelo Vak. Both their collaborative and solo projects have been climbing the Beatport charts over the past few months and this remix should be no exception. Maintaining the same classic house influence from the original, along with a potent baseline that thumps straight into one's chest, make this remix a definite crowd mover.
Having received great support in the past from Tiger Stripes, Butch, and Redondo (to name a few) Soulscum decide to stick to their established deep, techy sound for their take on the EP. The duo’s personalized tech-house groove, combined with a gritty chopped vocal, is sure to keep all tech-heads hooked.
Next, hailing from the Netherlands, El Funkador makes yet another appearance on Gooseneck Records. The essence of the original is kept as his drumbeat-loaded tech grooves make this a recommended pick for those looking to get things warmed up without losing the borderline Chicago-influenced house sound.
To round out the release Danarchism returns to Gooseneck having received impressive feedback on his debut Can I Be EP. This time Dennis decides to explore within the deeper sounds of house. His meticulous and elegant choice of lush pads completes the arsenal this EP has to offer with a vast selection for all tastes. Anyone with a passing interest in truly deep house would be wise to check this one out, whether looking to close out the night or create a proper mood early on.
