Hey peeps, I am moving to London for work this Sept from Toronto, Canada and am looking for any guidance in London with regards to how to find a good place to live, to connect with some good ppl & to find the right places to party. I think I am steering towards the West side of London, not too far from Hammersmith, where my HQ is located. Looking at Portobello Rd, Notting Hill, Ladbroke Grove, or either West Kensington...Any suggestions?

I love open concept spaces, conversions, bright, open concept. Is anyone looking for a flat mate?

Will be working in the Fashion Industry...

Any suggestions are much much appreciated! =) Am a good friend of Swamper's and hoping to meet the right ppl in London.

Ciao,
Kati

In know the west end can be very expensive, I once went out there and paid £18 for two gon and tonics! Congrats on the new job though, should be exciting in London.
I'll be visiting there for a week on the 13th of september, if you do hear of any cool events please let me know, as the British event page is laking.
Good luck with the move!

Yeah, I must say that the locations you stated certainly aren't the cheapest, but it all depends on what you can afford I guess!

If you're looking for a place, try gumtree, rightmove and propertyfinder. They should give you some ideas.

As for parties, what kind of nights do you enjoy going to?

I know it's not in London but theres a pretty big party at Passion in the midlands in November.

I should be there. My mates are being washouts at the moment but i'll go on my own if I have to :p

You mentioned a big night at Passion in November, the only one I know of is the Gareth Emery night. Are you referring to that or another one?

I just moved here on Monday!

Im around the Swiss Cottage area. From what I have seen so far its pretty good! Close to the tube, shops, gyms, etc. Im sure that the areas you mentioned will be good too.

Check out spareroom.co.uk. I found my place through there.

Good luck!!

Any other questions, feel free to ask!

I think I'll stick that in my diary, as it'll give me a good excuse to meet up with Giuseppe.
