The thing is , right-wing twats like him think gun regulation is some kind of affront, without realizing that at the time the constitution was written, people of all kinds had to be ready to pull out their musket and defend against invaders. I come from one of the most hunter-friendly states in the country, but I think it's asinine to think the 2nd amendment is nearly as relevant today. |
The 2nd amendment was for the purpose of the citizens to defend themselves against our own government should the need arise. I highly doubt citizens being armed will have any effect today should that case arise. Still, you can't go changing the constitution. |

Indeed. I don't care how many guns a redneck claims to have in his armory. There's little any well-armed citizen can do against military technology. And I agree, it should remain unchanged. But it's pretty unambiguous given the time in which it was written. Why there's so much debate over its interpretation baffles me. |

| You presume that any foreseeable scenario involves the US Government launching everything it has against its citizens. This always seems to be the presumption. I think the only reason it's brought up is because it sounds ludicrous, and everybody knows that people who like guns are just ludicrous! |

Chuck's argument - pffft; I called it an argument, LOL!! - is based on the tried and true NRA standard Camel's Nose Logical Fallacy that stipulates any sane measure for gun control should be immediately reframed as a strong-armed method to erode the rights of God-fearing, gun-loving idiots who finance Wayne LaPierre's extravagant life-style. You can't even be certain Obama's actually taken the measures that Chuck, in his tireless crusade against ing logic, argues that he's taking. |

As a fellow Milwaukeean myself, I've actually never done any kind of hunting but can't people in Wisconsin hunt with assault weapons? Did deer start packin' nines?
Also, did Milwaukee pass that concealed handgun law? |

Nice! I thought I knew all the Milwaukee TAs. I don't know how facetious your first questions were, but I think as long as the guns are semi-automatic, the law is pretty lax.
For example, a friend of mine:

To be fair, I know -all about guns.
As far as concealed carry, the Milwaukee police chief spoke out against the measure, but alas, it passed state-wide. |

I don't know about guns. I was just psyched I could throw out the one thing I did know and sound cool. For a sec. |

Of course everybody should have a right to own a gun, if you in fact are mentally sound and not likely to go and kill someone with that gun.
The 2nd amendment says nothing against the government keeping tabs on who has a gun, and what guns they have. It'd be insane if it did. Regulation doesn't mean they will take YOUR gun away, it means they take them away from people who has, or are in all likelihood going to use them in a criminal act.
And ing blaming Obama for (yet) a failed ATF operation?
I heard we was the guy who gave them the intel on Waco. |
