your dad is giving you 40 grand to spend on a car?

spoiled kid, arent you

was this thread just an excuse for you to brag?
LayzZy
Ok so forget the infiniti my dad wont even buy dat shiet he hates nissan, but for the speed it isnt much of a big deal, i dont want stick neways, cuz ima keep this car for 5 years. so its either AUdi a4 or IS300, the interior of IS is dope cuz its got tip-tronic on the steering wheel, and i dont plan on racing and shiet like that. so my suspension doesnt have to be INDY 500 suspension, just good enough to take some nice turns when im in the mood, but keeping a car for 5 years, non stick, and for the long run. and looks is a hard choice between audi and IS, cuz their both the same price, the IS ends up being just like 2g's more fully loaded n all comparing to the A4. so i duno its a hard ass choice.
LayzZy
spoiled meaning, yes he does have the money and the IS300 to the amount of money he makes is like, a nissan altima that u mite be getting. it has nothing to do with being spoiled i hate people that throw in dumb comments, so if ur gona make any then dont post.

Ummmmm, Infiniti is garbage?
Is that why the engine in the I35 is 6 years in a row the #1 engine in its class? Is it garbage because the engines are designed to run for 100,000 miles on a timing chain, not a belt? Are they garbage because JD powers has ranked Infiniti # 1 in customer satisfaction for a couple of years? How about the new Q45, with class leading 340 hp, voice recognition software, etc etc?
Why am I defending Infiniti you ask? I am not, I worked at a dealership for a year. I was sent to Dallas, Texas to test drive the new Q45 on the Texas Motor Speedway race track before 99% of the salesman in the country did.

I am not flaming you, just would like to know why you call Infiniti garbage.

Thanks,
Emil

i am speaking on personal experience and friends expereinces with Nissan.....and um do you reaaaally beleive JD Powers isnt influenced a little...u cant be that naive...thats liek beleiving Consumer Reports.....and PLEASE show proof that there engine is #1 for 6 years...dont pull facts out of the sky...show proof of that...cus i HIGHLY doubt that is true.

100,000 miles...so what big deal...any Honda or Toyota can do the same...u can run B16 Honda engine for 40,000 miles without changing the oil....and Hinda and Toyota engines will go to 200,000 miles very easily...that means nothing...and there is no benefit of a timing chain as oppose to a belt...except for maybe convience..and changing a timing belt is not that hard anyway...i have changed several..very simple with the right tools...its just a little time consuming...and besides whats the big deal if cant change it..take it to a mechanic...

class leading HP...and?....whats HP without handling?...nothing....and isnt the engine a 8 cylinder?...thats not alot anyway...thats average......

voice reco software...big whoop...u can buy that at any car audio shop..for like 2 years now....not impressive.

i am also not flaming you...but Nissan is not all that....they had a good run with the 300z and now with the Skyline...but there jumping on the bandwagon with their luxury cars..trying to be like BMW or Mercedes..but it takes more then slapping a different emblem on a slightley larger Maxima to do it...
blazed it
get the Audi A4 my friend has one and this car is sweet....

if you have the money get the s4---> omg this car is so sweet.

EVERYONE LOOK AT THIS

this is a reputable road test and they have all the cars you listed and the cars these people are arguing about... my mom has a 2002 TL type S and i will tell ya it is so fun to drive... i burned my friends supercharged solara SLE V6 and laughed at him. it is seriously a great car, real comfortable, for some reason this car makes long trips real short. visit www.acura-tl.com

I HOPE THIS HELPED EVERYONE IN THIS POST!

"What’s left to be said about the brilliant Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. "VQ" 3L DOHC V-6? It’s won a Ward’s 10 Best Engines award every year since its launch in 1995. And in winning yet again this year, the 3L VQ becomes the only engine to be a seven-time winner. Every year since we inaugurated the 10 Best Engines competition in 1995, the 3L VQ has won a place.

This engine design is working toward a decade in the market, yet it still soundly whips newer engines. Ward’s testers continue to apply precisely the same praise first used seven years ago when Nissan launched the VQ: "Absolutely uncanny lack of vibration," says one evaluator. "The throttle response is outstanding," effuses another, who adds, "This is unquestionably the best-revving V-6 ever."

See, I was right! :D :D

Anyways, like you I am also a car enthusiast. I was mainly speaking from the point of view of a consumer who goes to buy a car for what it is, not to modify it. The age group for the Q45 is from 40 years old +, you really think they want to go to an audio shop and install voice software? No, they want it standard! They can also care that the engine is 100,000 tune up free, because they don't care much for care maintenance.

Oh, the Q45 has more horsepower then the other cars in it's class. The handling you would be surprised as to what the car can do. With it's vehicle dynamic control you can do some cool stuff, like we did on the race track. The first Q45 that was sold at my dealership, (I sold it) for $20,000 over sticker. After the test drive the guy had a wide ass grin on his face. Only thing he said is "Where do I sign?"

We are not fighting, just 2 guys discussing cars!

Thanks,
Emil

The absolute idiocy that is running in this thread is giving me a headache. Tiesto14 knows cars. Lazzy sounds like one of those know nothing car idiots I deal with at work. Why do people go about saying like Nissan and Infinity is garbage?!? Have you Owned a maxima or infinity?? YES that 3.5L engine in the Infinity is the same one that is in the 2002 Maxima. It has been rated top 10 V6 ever made 6 years running. Believe me...just Drive the car. The design of that engine is amazing. OWESOME low end torque. THe thing just PULLLS strong throughout the RPM range. Nissan is garbage?!? haha, Then how come STOCK maximas are BLOWING away hooked up small Jap cars(w/ no major mods)?? I love nissan Engines and build quality SOOO much. There have been FOUR maximas in my family, and I am driving an Infinity now. I have a 93 Infinity J30touring that I purchased used this year with 60,000 miles. Lemme tell you, Nissan has done some verry good design in this car, it looks, drives, feels brand new. This car has the VG30DE engine in it. Which is the same engine that was put into the 90-96 Nissan 300zx sports cars. This engine has Variable Valve timing on it (same thing found in Honda's VTEC engines). Now lemme ask you? How many cars came with Variable valve timing 12 years ago??? Umm..I can just think of one, The Acura NSX (an $90,000 sports car). Don't mess with Nissan engines. They will always be ahead of their time. Oh and to Layzzy, If you have 40 grand to blow cuz your FATHER (not you) is rich, I Say go with some German engineering. Oh wait nevermind, you don't seem to be a carbuff, you don't even want a stick. haha. I was going to say Go for a used Audi s4 twin turbo or maybe older BMW m3. But whats the point? Seems like you want something that just looks a little flashy. The new G35 two Door version comes out in the fall. Definatly check that out. believe me, that infinity will last longer and outperform some piece of Lexus product. Lexus is soo uninspiring. Just blah..another toyota...HOW EXCITING!! Oh yeah, Layzzy, have you considered teh Subaru WRX?? for less than 30 grand, you can have something that will eat most cars off the line. Oh wait, nevermind, you don't want a stick. WEll, enjoy whatever you're father buys you. you definatly can't complain, ITS FREE!!

well technically, honda had come up with the b16a motor since 1989 on the crx in japan. i believe thats the first vtec to hit ths scene with honda. of course i am not too sure about it. in north america however, the 91 nsx was first followed by 92 gs-r and the 93 srv.

btw i think nissans are cool. :)
