Remix stems line up perfect in Cubase but not Albeton

| I have a stem for each part of a track. I put each stem in their own track and line them up on bar 1, and the entire song plays perfectly within Cubase. If I take these same stems into Ableton and put them into their own tracks and line them up on bar 1, everything is out of whack. I'm setting the tempo to the stem's original BPM. I tried turning off warping too since it's not needed as the tempo is the same as the stem's tempo. What is going on here? Thanks for any ideas. |

No idea..
If the project tempo (top left) is the same as the stem and warp mode is off then they should go in I guess or so you would think, I've had this problem before but my only way around it is to warp it. |

| it seemed to me sometimes that i had to input the right bpm into the samples warp settings. it was bad enough for me to skip ableton lol. |

| Loops from sample packs are always spot on, however I find I have to correct full tracks all the time but to be fair it only takes a few seconds to do.. I wonder what the threshold is on the length of the sample before ableton start to get it wrong?? |

| Are you setting the bpm before or after you've imported the stems? |

The stems are at 140BPM before they ever get into Ableton. Then once in Ableton, I set the project tempo to 140, turn off warping, and then click on each sample and set it's tempo to 140. This should just work. Each stem was recorded from the same starting point so lining them all up should have them all playing correctly. :conf: |

preferences -> audio -> auto warp long samples OFF.
delete the ASD files from the folder the stems are in, then reload them into ableton. should be fine |

sometimes the start marker is off , switch to wave form view and move the start marker all the way to the left, do this for all stems
I'v seen that you turned wrap off, doesn't hurt to double check |

| Yeah, i had the same problem. Go to the arrangement view, click on the sample and next to `warp` button you`ll have `set` button, make sure that samples on every channel have starting position at 0.0.0 |

This did it. Thanks Anthony. While this worked, what I still don't get is even though all the stems now play in sync, everything was not locked to a measure marker even when I start all the samples at the same measure. I had to highlight all the samples and then drag them, using the kick as my guide, to line everything up precisely to a measure. Since the track's tempo is 140, and the stems are 140, if it put all the stems at the same starting point, shouldn't the kick be perfectly aligned with each measure marker without me having to do anything? I made sure start marker is set to 0 0 0 too. |
