Get to da chappa, NOW!
Nothing will happen. We on the East Coast should grow some balls. First we panicked because of the quake, now NY is planning to evacuate in the face of tropical depression. People from Gulf of Mexico region and West Coast are begging to look at us funny. |

I just stopped by a Duane Reade on 57th and Broadway and people are buying water and batteries like its the end of the world. Seriously??? If you live in the city you will be fine.
I've been through enough hurricanes in Florida, it's amusing how the media and general hysteria can get to people. If anything, its a slight boost to our economy. Don't know what people will be doing with 10 pairs of D batteries after Sunday though. lol |

MTA Shutdown at noon tomorrow
Too bad nothing awesome is happening at Pacha this weekend when the B&T count would be significantly lower. |

Meh, I dont know anyone at all who is actually panicking in NYC....I figure I go out and buy some candles, water, booze, and board games in case we lose power. Doesnt mean Im panicking, just means I dont wanna be bored and I could always use all of the above things after the storm if need be.

I saw a friend post that she was getting ready to leave her apartment for the evacuation of her area. She's like 20 stories up on Wall St in a building that occupies the entire block. I think they'll be just fine.
All hype. I get the MTA shutdown though, because they will probably have lots of flooding and they need to get their equipment out of there and that takes time. I'm sure if they had a sophisticated system they could figure out a way to work around it until the storm actually starts, but it's the ing MTA.
I'm a block from the East River and I'm not the least bit worried. Well the fact that they never fixed my leaky window cills worries me but I just rent so whatever.
Oh, I will be going to stock up on whiskey and beer, that I'm low on. |
