So...anyone been to the Hoxton yet? New place from the people behind the Social (which is closed now).

I see that Fake Blood and Autoerotique are there on september 3rd...

Are they open late, like Footwork? Good vibe?

It hasn't "fully" opened yet.

But here's an overview/some pics based on the soft opening: http://notable.ca/bars-and-lounges/Inside-The-Hoxton

Or of course, the glowing reviews from Tribe: http://www.tribemagazine.com/board/...on-toronto.html

What's a "soft" opening? I read an article in The Grid saying that it opened a few weeks ago.

The Tribe reviews are fantastic...

It's partially owned by this guy:

I'm seeing Wolfgang Gartner there Oct 13th (seen him before and it was nothing special but friends wanna go and its only $20..meh)...will post back then with a review.

Was just there last night, good crowd lots of women, a bit older than at the Social. Crap sound system though and most people were chilling socializing rather than dancing.

I definitely see a lot of potential with the space.

Not everything has been finished yet (or at least, as of a few weeks ago), various things need to be perfected and installed and so on. Sort of like beta testing for a club. :D

Crap in what way? If that is confirmed to be permacrap (not a fixable issue) then I can save myself a night of pain and avoid. You can skimp on a lot of areas in a club but imo that's not 1 of them.

If it's anything like the Social, it'll be open regular bar hours, and have 4am last call every time there is a festival somewhere in Toronto
