I in loved it. Loved the track selection (esp.), the transitioning, the two or three GU 007 tracks with the classic, spot-on Oakey mixing!
The mixing actually taught me some essential things about dropping re-hashed tunes, that is the timing with which you used for dropping those GU 007 tracks, sounding essentially the same as the compilation, to me. Did you make it sound that way so the mixes would seem more friendly to the listeners that have heard GU007 before or are you just dropping them on the fly? went really very well. GU 007 of course being my favorite compilation of all time.
10 tracks was really very short of a set but seeing as how you sort of ended it with a touch of goa I can see where it might have ended up going. But since you started the set with some experimental trance it really went quite well to end it in the same note.
nice of you to put together some old school mixes for those of us who couldn't be there in 1999 to experience the music :happy2: |
