Has there ever been a successful TA collaboration effort?

Been thinking about that one dude's post about wanting to collab, was wondering how you even approach something like that over the internet? Sounds like it would be fun if it worked out.. meaning everyone was responsible and met their deadlines ect. Anything like that happen here before?

Immersiv (or Scott, or novastorm, depending on how you know him) and I worked together on my track Dream Machine. He uses Reason and I use FL Studio, I'd say we were successful. The mix wasn't great but that was pretty much all my fault, haha.

How did you go about doing that exactly?

i had some success about 5 years with niklas groswald aka charlie brown or on TA as soundrush. ended up getting him to remix my track lost which led to him being signed to recoverworld.

thats why i wanted to try it again. 2 minds are better than one.

Lots of back-and-forth discussion and working with exported loops. Wasn't really difficult. Though there's probably better ways to go about it.

did you use soundcloud to upload/download everything?

I don't remember what we used. Does it matter? They're just audio files, as long as it works for you and the people you're working with you could do it however you want.

I've facilitated and provided some input on many collaborations between some of the singers I work with and several TAs, including Eric J, Richard Butler, Zodiacal Light, etc. Also, Mia Valo and I have an upcoming EP release that will feature an Eric J/Mario remix - they actually finished their mix long before the original was done, so in a way, it was sorta like a collaboration. The guy who I collaborate with the most is also a TA (Avery Parker aka justjabbin), but he is local and I knew him personally before realizing that he was a TA! It helps that he is a fellow Sonar user, but I've collaborated with numerous people from other forums who use different DAWs and we just shared audio/MIDI files.

So, yeah, it can be done. Depending on who you work with, keeping schedules/deadlines can be tricky. Personally, I try to keep both personal and collaborative deadlines, but I have many other priorities (family/career/life) that often get in the way, so I find that I have to be realistic about it myself and acknowledge that the same thing applies to others. And, of course, I've had many collabs that never worked out for one reason or the other.

i'm 99% sure i met mezzir on TA, he & i have done a few tracks together. One of the first ones we did was a bootleg of Lady Gaga (i know!) in like 2007/2008? anyways i still hear it being played at my gym and even saw her manager tweet about it once when he was out at a club lol. it was unofficial but did better than any of the real mixes. in addition to that we did this together a few years ago:

With both people having different gear did that hinder the process of making songs?
