Arty at Beta: Review?

Forever Forward
Did anyone make it to Arty's set at Beta? I would have really liked to have gone, but I wasn't able to make it.

How was it? He's a phenomenal producer, but I'm unfamiliar with his DJing abilities.

a few of my friends went they said he played 40% mashups and it was not that good,
he took a few videos http://www.youtube.com/user/foranangel#p/u

was curious about this event as well, but apparently arty was crap at Circus last sun as well. I guess he suffers from 'good producer, crap dj syndrome'

That was exactly it. There was really no flow whatsoever. Lots of ups and down and he was all over the place. And there was a couple of times where the beatmatching was pretty off.

I drove out to see him and I'd have to agree with most of the sentiments here. I mostly went to hear him play some of his own productions though so I didn't end up too disappointed.

I know a lot of people thought that the set that W&W played at the Guv last December was killer but I thought that it had the same kinda feel as Arty's set at Beta, some bangers and then the energy drops too much too quickly and it just roller-coasters like that all night.

They're both killer producers but are relatively new (I think) to the DJing gig (plus Arty is only 21) so I'll reserve judgement on DJing skills for a few more years. Never-the-less the crowd was loving it.

Also, that was my first time at Beta. Kind of a cool club (despite the lack of a license still). I like the open feel of it an the sound was pretty crisp.
