Many of these aren't ballads. The 9 Inch Nails stuff should be in the thread: that no one will care about in 30 years.

I didn't realize that a 30 yr shelf life was a defining trait of ballads.

The only people who will remember Whitesnake by then is Time Life.
Halcyon+On+On
What's funny is that Pretty Hate Machine will be 30 years old in less than a decade.

Hairband Power Ballads =/= Ballads in general

GOOD ONE, Kate Bush has to be my all time fave female artist.

Did you know that the Utah Saints, who I was also nuts about, sampled Cloudbusting in Something Good - skip to about 1 minute:

I don't think to many people can pick just one 80's ballad. There are many great songs out there. Of the top of my head...

The Smiths - Shoplifters Of The World Unite

Alphaville - Forever Young

Here's one for you 80's music buffs...

Trying to find out what song this melody is from. It was a male singer, I think the last bar of the sample had a verse something like "conflict of a personality"

My ty attempt at playing it:

Need ID: 80's slow song by aNYthing1

Danny Ocean
