Announcing dates in advance is a "couteau à deux tranchants" ... don't know how to say it in english but I mean that it has good and bad sides |
A double-edged sword.
You are right that there are good and bad aspects sides to it, which is why I understand why events aren't announced the moment the artist is booked (i.e. probably several months in advance).
However, as a customer from out of town, anything less than a month of advance notice is unacceptable to me, because that's the point where the transportation/hotel costs start getting unacceptably expensive. |

| I get your drift, and I can surely see how what you would like would benefit the club. at the same time, I think they are more concerned with their local following. I can't pretend to know all of the nuances behind bookings, but I do know that many stereo bookings are sometimes done pretty close to the actual event itself. it's sometimes economics... like getting a "tag on" booking last minute because someone else close by has done a booking and the lesser travel expense makes things a bit more viable. maher does a great job, but at the same time there is only so much he can do. the economics behind this play a big part... feel free to correct me if I am wrong guys, but I'm sure that the people more involved on here will probably confirm. |

makes lots of sense to me. Proximity to EZ probably afforded Stereo the chance to do to a rare but popular booking and pack the joint, even with a $60 ticket. But it seemed like a late booking and I suspect it was probably for the reasons you wrote.
Stereo seems very non-descript in its approach, not a lot of pomp and circumstance and they can rationalize it by saying "it's not about who the dj is, it's the experience of being there, it's about the Stereo sound and vibe we will provide our customers each and every weekend."
'Just not sure this is done by design or is because of other financial reasons (or maybe both... probably both I suspect).
I personally like non-descript approach but then again, it can be annoying for the reasons stated earlier by Highroller. |

| I'm being facetious for sure, but if I think hard I realize that the times in my life that I wasnt getting AAA vag, were spent in an afters. with the vag on est sage. it would certainly explain why afters tend to be sausagefests. |
