It's too slow to dance and too boring to listen ;)

I agree that it's probably the most limitating genre in EDM. There is one or two, three guys and rest are kids that try to copy them...

I mean, I like the wobbles, some ideas are nice but it's just every track is too similar. poor 'producers' can kill any genre... :( it's really hard to spot there some gems because everything is covered by an endless sea of a very similar crap.

So what do you do, just point and guess? ha your either insanely good and talented or you just suck....

As for genre's being defined by how people hear them, well every person has his/her own perception of what they hear. What makes their individual experience coincide are the structures of what they are hearing. Having said that, each genre has been predefined by the music and artists before them. tempo, progression, time period, and technique are some of these confabs which label and segregate said music.

no matter how many people say country music is rock music it just is not!

Or, maybe I just make music that sounds the way I want it to sound and don't concern myself with whatever little subgenre-box that people want to put it in. It has nothing to do with how talented I am, although, yes, I do suck, but at least I have a sense of logic.

if you like sounds then dubstep is a good bet if you want good atmospherics then burial is the way to go,other then that its just a new trend for the kids.

if enough people say it is , then it is. That simple. Shania twain wasn't country but it was sold as country and called country. Techno in 2000 was Eiffel 64 or what ever the hell they were called. People control what things are called, not some sacred definition in some ivory tower.

It has some cool new ideas and is pretty original. However, as said, the gems of dubstep are hidden under the trash of artists like me :P

Yes people control what things are classified as, but as soon as something has a world wide definition it becomes ubiquitous. So therefore everything that follows in the same footsteps as the original idea is labeled as the same.

you clearly follow the crowd bro. Whatevs im not judging you....to each their own.

Oh Cryo you clearly do not have a sense of logic if you do not know what genres you are mixing together. I'm all for you producing what ever sounds good for you bud, that is what its all about.

here is a sick little dub-step mix

I'm just not exactly sure where to begin. There's so many rhetorical devices being abused that if Sarah McLaughlin needed stock footage for a commercial to help save wounded and neglected arguments, she'd do well to start with this thread. I'm damn near in tears, already.
