Is the Allen & Heath:DX midi controller any good?

At first i was thinking of buying two separate cd-players like the Denon DNS-1200 or DN-3700 but it would make it quite expensive. I already own two Technics 1210 players since 10 years back and would never sell them ever even if i haven't used them to mix since the last half that period, they more or less collects dust.

I thought it might be better to go for a bit cheaper alternative, the A&H:dx

here

I could connect it to my active monitors and ESI Juli@ soundcard and use the Serato scratch software, blimey!

Is this the right choice or should i go for two seperate players with usb-input and use my current mixer to hook up with them?

The DX as a mixer is great. Have to turn on Itch and you must have a SSL box to use your turntables.

As a controller on its own I like mine. The jog wheels are no good to me and theres a few other things I wish I could do with it. But it does what I ask. It is not for Hip Hop music. Can be used but its not intuitive to it.

I would recommend it but id make sure to check out some other options as well unless you must have A&H. BTW are you needing something to use as a mixer as well or just a controller?

Thanks for the throughout reply! I do own an old mixer Dutch made Dateq XTC but it's old so i rather use the whole controller including the mix section. Are you implying there are better controllers out there?

Check out the Pioneer DDJ T1 and S1 and the Denon Mc6000 or the traktor s4

I have the DDJ T1 and I love it.

Congrats Z you've manged to only look in your own personal bubble and disregard the question..... He said he wants something that can be a mixer as well not to mention have you used one past using a picture to say "WTF is this". The Pioneers can NOT be used as stand alone mixers (BTW I put my hands on them at a Guitar Center. I own all Pioneer gear besides this Xone and I felt like the S1 and T1 felt cheap. Numark level cheap)

Pretty much every review puts the Xone as one of the top available controllers out there. Yes it has quirks but so does every other controller.

All I can say is the Xone has been a reliable and useful tool thats well worth the money but the best advise is to get your hands on a

Xone:DX
Numark NS6
Denon DN-MC6000
Traktor S4

and see which one fits being not only a mixer for your external sources but fits the feel and usefulness of what you want to do.

I only looked in my own bubble considering you listed half the controllers I did and the s4 will work as a mixer and yes I have used the DX several times as my friend has one and its a piece hence why I didnt get it because it was the first 4 deck "top tier" controller and the T1 is numark cheap? LOL yours has fake screw holes and looks like denons aborted baby...nuff said.

You missed where I said I own all Pioneer gear otherwise (DJM800/CDJ1000MK3's Love them). I played on the Pioneer controllers and I didnt care for the feel they had. They felt Numarkish to me. Not up to what I expect even from even the lower model stand alone DJM mixers or CDJs. Also called my personal opinion. Im not going to smash you choice of it past you cant use it as a stand alone mixer but you seem really intent on ribbing anyone that dosent find the T1 to be what you think it is.

Except I didnt and im not partial to any and hence why I gave the options with no preference to any and just said that I had the T1 and I loved it and from also having cdj 800's and the DJM-600 the build quality is the same.
