FLS is the best DAW in the world! (pg. 2)

DAWs are like a cloned hot chick and the only differences between the clones are the color of the hair and eyes. Everybody gonna say that his is the best. Is just a matter of taste :-)

The eternal debate. DAW's mean . I work with Logic, but can't even get my tracks to sound as 'spacey' as for example Kandi, who still works with Reason.
Looney4Clooney
there are certain requirements in certain fields that make certain DAWs unusable, FLS and reason being one of them. If we are strictly talking EDM , then ya , it really doesn't matter.
AirPole
Yes, and that is why people from the likes of Estiva, Maor Levi and a load of other people use FL. Yes, i also dislike FL, but in the end, it doesn't matter. It's about skills, son.
Looney4Clooney
unless you have to sync multiple devices in different rooms, have audio at different sampling rates and a host of other things professionals use daily , then sure FL is fine. Please don't call me son.
AirPole
Chill out. It's just an expression. And yes, FL doesn't have the capabilties that Logic has. But to each his own. Everything else is not important. :)

I'm pretty sure FL Studio was made with individual EDM producers in mind, so it's kinda odd seeing you bash it as unprofessional when the capabilities it lacks are something 99% of its users wouldn't have any need for. There's better programs for larger demands, but that doesn't make those programs better for anyone who doesn't have a studio full of hardware. If you work primarily with software and just a few pieces of hardware, you're not missing out on anything.

It has full 64 bit support as of FL 9 and as far as I can tell, word clocks can work with it, though I have no clue what those are.

Oops - didn't mean to start another DAW war.

A) image line either paid for that poll or leveraged their marketing/gifts/reader prizes.
B) Fruityloops looks like a toy, that's why it's popular with noobs. It isn't all scary with confounding menus and such.
C) It only just got multi processor support and from what I hear, it really doesn't work very well at all.
D)Don't be fooled that it's 64bit - from what i understand they added "64bit support" - meaning it can handle 64bit plugins, but the host itself is still 32bit. Why does that suck? No matter how much RAM you put in your little dell, FL will only ever address and make use of a max of 3gb (2 gb actually unless you do the FL fox to address more).
E) It probably is the most used DAW, as it's what the most noobs torrent download install to make "Beatz".

I'm not having a crack at FL - there are producers that make way better music than me on Logic - just making the statement that in terms of programming, innovation, features and functions it has (and still does) consistantly lag behind the other major "professional" platforms (Cubase/Logic/Sonar/PTHD/Live).

FLS is not professional, as in not able to make money with it?

Soulyaboy and Afrojack have made hit records using the stock sounds/plugins of Fruity Loops :D

Looney4Clooney
souljaboy's debut , the one reportdely made in fruity loops , mixed by Jason "jew name i cna't remember"

afrojack ? really ?

look i never said you couldn't make music on it, it just isn't really a tool you will ever find in a professional environment for various reasons I don't really want to get into.

Live offers a much more open set of tools for EDM and I honestly don't understand why anyone would use FLS. Well I suppose I do, people that make 10 layer EDM. sure FLS can handle that.

You know waves offer 24 hour support but I wonder how long the tech will laugh under his breath when you say you are running FLS. Not that anyone running that has ever paid for anything.

Not trying to fuel the fire here, but I'm 99% positive that FLS is not even officially supported by Waves.
