| ok so I have entered a competition for a warm-up set half 8 - to half 9, scott project is headlining that night and the resident playing from half 9 onwards plays mostly house/electro. From what i hear i think i have got the set, but am unsure on what to play, any sets i do are always trance and progressive, normally 133bpm onwards, obviously i'm going to have to drop that to about 128bpm no more than 130bpm max, should i stick with 128 - 130 bpm trance or switch style completely? any help is much appreciated |

| The best thing to do, would be to play a load of Scot Project tracks (no more than four) slowed down to circa 133BPM. That way you'll get the crowd worked up for Scot Project, when he comes on later. |

If your playing before a house/electro Dj I wouldn't have thought you want to be playing such a high tempo, you are in essence warming up for the resident who is warming up for Scott project Ideally you would be swapping slots if that's what you are playing.
If not deep house, progressive, tech house or soulful house would probably be best. |

| If you have to ask others what to play then you're in trouble. |

stick with your deep trance style imo, its a decent flow for the night theoretically. bring the energy up towards scott project. |

I'd say play better and epic/uplifting than the person after you and pretend you didn't know his music was so bland and pale in comparison to yours.
"Warm Up" songs that I've personally seen at raves in 2007:
Tiesto - Ten Seconds Before Sunrise
Deadmau5 - Not Exactly (Original Mix)
Imogen Heap - Hide N Seek (Tiesto's In Search of Sunrise Remix)
that-lion-king-remix-song-by-dada-life
others
Cabala - Dark Blue (Original Mix)
Sasha - Xpander
Mirco De Govia - Epic Monolith
Pulser - Cloudwalking (Astral Mix)
go for the hard hitter just to troll the next DJ |
