Last night I decided to change things up and venture away from the regular FW + Platform parties and checkout the party from Thoughtless. It turned out to be quite a change and refreshing to be at a venue ive never heard about
Walked in at ~1130 to a bad trainwreck from the opener. Zaid Edghaim was dropping some bouncy / minimal tunes and got people grooving really quick. I really enjoyed his opening set despite the few wrecks
Arthur Oskan took it from Zaid ~12ish for his live set. Again, his music was fantastic. Every track had good highlights and drops. Being my first time seeing him, Ill definitely check him out again.
[a]pendics Shuffle was also a blast....and pretty fun to watch. First time I heard about him was from breakandenter's podcast and I've had that set in mind for a long time. Was nice to see the guy in action.
Vincent Lemieux was the last one to play and played from 230-430 or so. He was awesome at Old Miami at DEMF and was the reason why I came out last night. I was hoping he would take me back to OM......but didnt :( His set lacked basslines and groove. Felt sharp n dry.
Li'ly is a pretty cute club. The downstairs holds between 100-150 people and feels quite intimate. Feels like partying in a friends basement. The sound as pretty good too. I think its an underused venue for smaller parties.
I wish there was more people last night. The crowd thinned out pretty quick. Was like 15 pple left @ the end. My only peeve about the night is that each dj had trainwrecks :(
I guess i need to keep venturing away from Platform/FW parties and check out the other promoters in the city to find little gems. Next up to check out is breakandenter with Dandy Jack :) |
