Yo,

as you might now, Ferry Corsten & Olmeca Tequila do a remix competition. The winner gets to open for Ferry at one of his shows. I did the remix because i liked the original and wanted to add some of my own taste to it :) So i hope you like it as much as I liked producing it!

Here's a YouTube version:

If you don't like the quality or the version is too short, here it is on Soundcloud too:

my opinion of your track? Its really good! The break beat was just phenomenal. Every piece of that part was very well done and my favorite part of your entire track. A couple of things that stood out just a little. At the :43 mark it sounded like there was a key clash. Not sure if it was my ears playing tricks on me or if there was indeed a bad key being played. It just didn't sound right. The second suggestion, is the filter sweep going into the main break. It sounded a bit short. It started, but just for a second and it didn't carry into the break at all. At the 4:23 mark it sounded like you were mixing. I'd change the bass drum a little so it didn't sound like you had another record playing over-a-top of your track. Also, the change going from the breakbeat to the drum roll, it would be cool to have a transition there. Maybe more of a dip instead of just a change. Lastly, throughout the entire song, I was hoping that it would open up a little. Other than that, I really liked it a lot!

hey ryan,
thanks for the great advice and the comment. Yea, i tried to avoid the key clash (there is one, as you said) but it was just hard to make that transition, guess i should've done better there!
And yea just a reverbkick to introduce the drum roll doesn't do, there should be a bit more. I'll def. work on that in the next one! thanks a lot for that :)

anyways i just found out that i posted that in the "production studio" section instead of the "music producers promotion" section where it's supposed to be, sry about that!

Posting in here doesn't really bother me at all. Its the rest of the forum users and mods that are concerned with it. I used to post in music producer forum too but its like a place for people to drop off their tracks and they may or maynot receive any feedback. In here, there's some sound minded (active) producers who care about giving advice and refining techniques and sound. I gain a great deal by being in here. I'd suggest just not making a habit out of it and stick around. There's lots to learn in here and good people to provide feedback. Plus, lots of remix competition postings and "in the studio w/ (insert your favorite producer here)" youtube videos- which I find to be super cool.

Anyways, good mix, good track, and thanks for taking my feedback not too seriously. Like I said, I liked your track a lot, just a few things stood out to me and I felt like sharing my thoughts. Good man! =)

warum denn 3 verschiende beats in einem track? :conf:
Cedric K.
hehe thanks for the comment mar she :)
just wanted to make it a bit interesting.. unfortunately it resulted in a key clash and a bit of arrangement problems but that wasn't quite planned. will try to work harder on that part though, i just like when a track has a bit of an unusual structure since trance is getting more and more the same..

but i think there are 2 different "beats" in the track (i guessyou mean it as in melodies). Just the 1st after the intro and then the normal one from the original tune. Just changed it a bit for the break, adding some notes in between

Cedrik I don't like the feel of the synths. What I mean is they sound like they all go to the same basic roomy verb and I know training manuals say to have 1 or 2 verb sends but this for me gives a very basic and dulled sound. If you take the main drop, it sounds like a room full of synths fighting for space. It thus reminds me of early dance tracks.

Might just be my taste, I try to be positive in feedback but at the same time I want to be honest.
