from what i read on reviews, the overwhelming majority of people seem to love them -- then there are two or three which make me doubt the validity of those reviews (alot of them read like brochures, honestly): comments on cheap design, low bass, comparable clarity on much cheaper headphones.
as far as i can see, you have to spend an additional $2000 on an amp to get a decent sound out of this $1500 headphone. the 800s are rated at 300ohms so buying without an amp seems useless.
