Hitting it up for a bit both before & after Luke Fair @ Toika. Concentrating on Zone C (Liberty Village, Queen West) as things are more spread out, there's less crowds to deal with and that's usually where the most interesting displays are for me (large scale projects).

Walking with hand warmers, extra sweater, umbrella etc. - looks to be both cold and wet. Brrr!

Sander is on from 1-4am

Best. Nuit Blanche. Ever.

Was my first time checking things out on Nuit in a few years. Art seemed mostly the same to me which is you show up, scratch your head, figure it out, shrug and on to the next one. The lightshow at the pond by city hall had me wishing Sander was on the stage there though, would've been good times if he fired over after guvie. Tons more people than when I went in the past and the crowd in general was a much wider range as the first time I went it seemed to be 80% the artsy type. One thing they did all have in common was being smashed though. Good times overall and no matter how bad you may think it is, it's free so I'm sure you can get a refund in full if you did not enjoy...

Probably the best Nuit Blanche yet. Lots of fun exhibits and the streets were packed with people until almost dawn, even though it was pretty cold out.

Easily one of the best weekends of the year. I am grateful Toronto has this.

i have a friend playing on some street setup thing along queen. go see him for a bit then see the installation at my hotel in the vault cuz i'm curious/

Will head to Sander around 2:30

I saw a good dubstep party in the parking lot at Queen and Pearl, the crowd was having a jolly good time. Was that it?

I think I saw/heard more music last night than before, and I really liked it. The atmosphere last night was a lot more lively than previous years. Toronto was busier than I have ever seen it.

Agreed. I think this event is really starting to come along.

Had an amazing time last night. This event really is different and so fun. Last night the streets were still busy at 6 a.m. in the pouring rain. If that doesn't say something about the success of the event i don't know what does.

queen and peter just off the parking lot yes.

It was a variety of music...dubstep, breaks, whacky electro, techno and tech house. Crystal Castles was there and supposed to play but some form of "technical errors" led to them not playing.

decent stuff...the crowd at that party was ridiculous...bunch of crazy crazy kids. Very anti-scotiabank which was sort of uncool. also saw some people destroyed out of their minds (had to be an acid trip) and it just took the oomph out of it.

The streets themselves were full of interesting people who were just walking around checking out exhibits. The odd kids were slightly out of control but the worst I saw was at that little spot on queen and peter.

My plans were all over for this due to various issues, and ended up venturing out solo at around 1:00am or so.

Gotta say, having a group of friends makes the inbetween-exhibit parts where there is nothing going on far more fun, but alas - my iPod would need to keep me company. Hit up some things in the Queens Park / UofT area, wandered down to City Hall, then towards King / Temperance area before hauling back towards home at 4:00/4:30 just as it was starting to spit outside a little bit.

The main standout piece for me was The Feast of Trimalchio - when I first got to Queens Park, there was a big lineup to get in, watched a bit of it from the sidelines and figured "Meh..." and walked around the park for a bit and tried to figure out my next move. Then I saw that the loop had finished, the audience was emptying out - and I slipped in for the next viewing.

Damn - it was cool, and glad I stuck around. I guess one of the upsides of venturing solo - I can sit at an exhibit for as long as I want without worrying about other people in my party wanting to move on. I watched the entire thing and it was trippy as hell - 360 video, Parts 1 2 & 3 all playing at the same time - was neat bouncing between the screens to watch what's going on, that feeling of 'I might be missing something cool in one of the other parts', and also watching people watch the movie - and doing the same balancing act, or elbowing their friends "Look at that one...."

I think that NB is a really neat event - I just wish that there were more large-scale outdoor things, less indoor line up & wait things - and a clearer indication on the program of what things you might need to lineup for or not. I tried to plan my night around things where I wouldn't need to wait in line.

man. you really need a lot more time to check everything it. by the time we got to queen west, most exhibits were over. :( but in general, everything we saw was great! some of the exhibits were very involved too.

I think if they held this during the summer it would be much more enjoyable
