Edit-Select (Electric Deluxe, CLR | Glasgow)
Raiz (Droid Recordings, History y Voliencia | Los Angeles)
Jeff Derringer (Perc Trax, Oktave | Chicago)

On October 8th, 2011, Oktave celebrates two years of cutting edge techno events in New York City. After hosting the likes of Silent Servant, Cio D’or, Lucy, Perc, Milton Bradley, Claro Intelecto and many more, Oktave has become synonymous with the deeper, darker side of techno in America, and has since spread out to open a branch in Chicago. Oktave resident Jeff Derringer has also emerged as an up-and-coming producer, releasing two EPs on Perc Trax over the last 12 months. As Oktave embarks on its third year of operation, there is much to celebrate and much to be excited about.

Oktave’s anniversary will once again take place at the event’s adopted home, National Underground on New York’s Lower East Side. The show’s headliner is Tony Scott, also known as Edit Select. Under several different aliases, Tony has been putting out top quality techno for the better part of fifteen years. His recent ascent into the techno stratosphere is due to an unwavering commitment to his craft, resulting in releases on some of the most respected labels in the current techno scene - Electric Deluxe, Stroboscopic Artefacts, CLR and more. As Edit Select, Tony has traveled the world, introducing his audiences to deep, dub-laden techno that delivers a visceral punch. His recent CLR podcast was one of this year’s best. His appearance at Oktave will be Edit Select’s Stateside debut.

Returning guests Raíz (LA-based brothers Vidal and Vangelis Vargas) are part of the influential and heralded Droid Behavior collective, which also includes Drucell and Audio Injection. Since we last saw them in January at Oktave, the Vargas brothers have been extremely busy. Highlights of their 2011 to date include a much praised CLR podcast, a podcast for Speedy J and Electric Deluxe, a remix for Audio Injection’s Truncate project, and appearances with Plastikman, Chris Liebing and Function. Oktave is pleased to welcome the return of Raíz to New York, and you can expect a hybrid DJ and live set that utilizes today’s most advanced performance and production technology. You have to see Raíz to believe it.

As always, the Oktave show will be opened by resident Jeff Derringer, whose profile as a performer and producer has been steadily on the rise since the inception of the Oktave project. After releasing his debut EP last year on New York’s Subtrak Records, Jeff has since released two consecutive EPs on the London-based Perc Trax label. With remixes by Dino Sabatini, Milton Bradley, Iori, Claro Intelecto and Samuli Kemppi, all three EPs were well received. Support and charting came from such esteemed artists as Lucy, Tommy Four Seven, Pfirter, Terence Fixmer, Peter Van Hoesen, Adam X, Giorgio Gigli, DVS1, Dustin Zahn, Audio Injection and many more. Jeff is currently hard at work on his next EP.

Cover for the Oktave anniversary show is $15 all night at the door. No advance tickets are available. We expect the event to sell out so please arrive early to guarantee your admittance.
