Of course. But try telling that to a young, single mother with a couple of kids, minimal education, working a ty job (or 2 ty jobs, or none at all) and few supports (this demographic happens to make up a good majority of people living at or below the poverty line, fyi) - and she'll laugh in your face.

Her kids will grow up learning the same bad habits, and not because she was lazy or didn't care - but because she just didn't know any better and was more concerned with putting some food, any food, in her kids' bellies than trying to find the time to learn about healthy eating on a budget. Time and education are both luxuries when you're poor, and when you have little of either of them - yeah you take the easy way out.

Not all fatties are the same lazy "It's glandular!!" pieces of .

It's not glandular. It's the Colonel's Spices:

It's funny that in today's age you need to be well-educated and rich to be slim.

Pretty much.

I suppose. I'd say I have more of an athletic body as opposed to a waify body, which is what I think of when I think of "slim". But yeah, I'm healthy.
Chimney
Where can I see more pictures of you? So far I've only seen the one in the bridesmaid's dress.
Silky Johnson
Lol.

I think Jen hit the nail on the head. It's too easy for parents to buy food for their children because it's convenient and easy and they're not bothered about what's in it.

Just looking at a couple of the big stores websites here for their 'offers' this week, one is offering on

Pizzas
Crisps (chips)
sodas
chocolates
beers

Another is offering

Bacon
more chips
tons of cheaper biscuits

no wonder this country is screwed. I know of people who don't eat any fruit or vegetables at all, let alone know how to use it anyway. I shop at my local market and generally my weekly shop is similar to this

Loaf crusty white bread (in canada, think 'french loaf')
cucumber
lettuce variant - either iceberg, loose leaf or little gem etc
pepper - generally yellow
bunch of raddishes
5 peaches
raspberries
strawberries
carrots
brocolli/cauliflower
green beans/baby corn
chicken, pork loin steaks, gammon joint etc.
6 eggs

From that, I can eat for almost a weeks worth of meals, with just an oat based cereal, my milk, bottled water (we have awful drinking water in my locale) and an occasional bakery treat coming from a supermarket then obviously any toiletries i need. I can shop for $40ca a week easily therefore. I know that in Alberta, fresh foods cost a lot more than here, and ontario varies. We pay for a chicken what you do for steak and vice-versa but a lot of things are imported esp in Ab. Ontario markets are immensely good from my experience and the fresh things available is very good in quality esp compared to our 'big' stores.
