Sample Sale Sites

Do any of you shop on sample sale sites online? A friend of mine referred me to Jack Threads and Gilt recently. I made my first purchase the other day (pants, a few shirts, and a necklace) and I'm waiting on stuff to make it to me. I was a bit miffed after reading that the pants wouldn't make it here for 3 weeks (even though, buying them on the site, I read '1 week') but it's no big deal.
Every now and then I see some really cool stuff on gilt - nice jeans, like prps, for ~80% off. By the time I click on em, 5 min after they show up at 9am here in LA, they're sold out in every size above 29 and below 39. How I wish I had my 28 inch waist back... Maybe it's time to stop eating.
Anyway, do you use other sites? Do you avoid this sort of like the plague? Positive/Negative experiences? |

| I don't know, is a sample sales site the same as an 'online shop?' |

Yeah, I'm unclear on the nomenclature as well.
I googled Jack Threads, but it's some kind of members site, selling fashion. At cheap rates, I guess? If I had to make a guess, it would be selling 'out of season' stuff (I care about this, a lot), and/or getting rid of clothing with 'minor' defects. And I bet they don't ship to AU :p
Might be wrong though :conf: |
