This is the event I was never supposed to go to, but I'm so happy I did!
My chance meeting with tyDi crashing my party at Vola Nightclub the night before, on my birthday, led to me coming this night and videoing one of the best sets I've heard this year. I didn't know what to expect, since I listen to his weekly internet show, Global Soundsystem, which has many great tracks, but not to the level he brought that night.
Right from the beginning of his set to the very last track was an exciting combination that kept people dancing their asses off. I was so happy to hear so many aggressive tracks as this is sound I crave the most when I listen to trance. It's been 9 months since I've stepped in The Guvernment, not for any real reason, but it did feel like coming home. Also to make the night even better was the fact that tyDi is so down to earth to talk and party with that videoing him was that much easier. Thanks so much to tyDI, his agent Ronnie of Most Wanted Entertainment, and to the management of The Guvernment for allowing me to capture this night to share with the world.
As a side note, Manzone and Strong came on after tyDi's set and continued that aggressive sound. I couldn't believe my ears as I'm accustomed to hearing them spin house music on other nights, so the tracks they laid down ended the night off perfectly. I couldn't video them as the venue brought down the lighting very dark (as compared during tyDi's set) and it would have looked like crap. :(
