not using a vocoder

Auto-tuned awesomeness.

Oh, sorry, I'm a ruiner. Is that NIN playing?

Cool. Witty.

You, sir, are a poet and a scholar. Well played.

See i was wondering about what that whole auto-tune thing does. I assumed it just auto tuned your off note vocals. But i didnt think i gave it that chorusy flangy type sound.

I hate pop music too and don't even listen to the radio because every song is starting to be the exact same. But, as a producer i want to know how to do it out of interest.

flange isn't really the right word to describe it, it just changes the shift and as all pitch changes do to audio, introduces certain artifacts depending on the algorythm used. In this case, that sort of unnatural pitch stability that sounds alien.
