Lets see if this goes anywhere - we did it in one of my classes today.
Rewrite the cliche above you and post a new one.
Example:
"once in a blue moon"
Obviously the writer was pertaining to a certain situation when writing this and it has since become a coined phrase. How would you rewrite it to make it more modern or amusing?
I would rewrite it: "once in a lottery winner" (boring, but it's just an example)
Get it?
Ok. So I'm sure this could get fun with all the different cliches from around the world we have here along with some witty minded people.
Here's my cliche for the next poster:
"cat got your tongue" |
