Best Buy has an incredible deal right now. It kind of makes me wish that I didn't buy a new laptop 6 months ago although I did get an incredibly good deal on mine as well. These just seem to come along every 6 months or so, and I'm talking specifically in the 13.3" - 14.0" category.

http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product...73984c2dc15en02

-2nd Gen core i5
-128 GB SSD
-6 GB ram
-Win 7 64b Professional
-2 USB 3.0 slots
-nVidia 1Gb graphics card

Plus it apparently has like an 8 hour battery life which is incredible.

All for $799. $400 off. I wish I needed this lol. Just thought I'd share since it's such a fantastic deal.

maher's hard drive crashed a few days ago, we are still mourning the loss of over 65 gigs of music. (his external hard drive crashed a few days earlier)...just our luck.

too bad he's a mac boy.

I'm guessing he tried recovering the hard drive with no success?
Maher Daniel
recovery is impossible the spinner touched the magnet which litteraly wiped everything

who says its impossible? did you have it checked by restoration pros? (almost everything can be restored ... for a price)
julien2
if it has been wiped, its almost impossible to recover. some government specialists in forensics could do it, perhaps.

sorry to hear that maher. externals are great, but also back up to dvdr as well as cloud to always be certain. You can also try this:

If it is toast, it is worth a try. Our IMac died a few weeks back, and I've seen a lot of posts on facebook as well as a bunch of other sites here and there lately. Is Jobs pwnzing us from the grave?

There are some great tutorials around on how to replace the hd itself if you google. At least you can upgrade:) If you don't have apple care or a warranty, leave the 'genius bar' alone. They aren't worth the ridiculous price.

Beatport will let you redownload all of your purchases from (not sure time window) if you email them. It might not be everything, but it is a start.

good luck habbibi

What an absolute nightmare! That is my worst fear :(

Making me rethink that my external HD backup isnt enough...

Last year I almost lost every tracks I ever bought for the past 4 years due to multiple problems with my laptop and my ext HD.
Now my tracks are backup on 3 different computers and 5 harddrives.
Even so, Im still afraid I might loose everything :nervous:
