Israel is trading over 1000 Palestinian prisoners who were convicted in proper trials (including over 100 convicted of murdering civilians) for one abducted Israeli who's only crime was to be in uniform on the Israeli side of the green line.

This. You understand Israel's politics a lot better when you realize they value one man equal to a thousand Palestinians. It also says a lot about the media that there have been extensive reports on the terrible fate of Gilad Schalit yet not a word on the thousand others. |

I'd say that Israel was rather stupid on this one. You don't trade 1000 for 1 under any circumstances. Then again as Meat says, with much of the western media being very pro-israel and them themselves deciding to allow the 1000 free then you have to say that the score now is
Palestine 1-0 Israel. |

| 100 were convicted of murder? almost 400 were convicted of murder or assisting a murder. Alot assisted with suicide bombings which killed alot of Israelis. And this just shows how much the Israeli government wants to protect civilians. releasing 1027 terrorists for only 1 soldier. Also Gilad Shalit was treated really badly there, but the terrorists were treated good in the Isaeli prison. |
