Ever since founding Plus 8 Records with Richie Hawtin in 1989, JOHN ACQUAVIVA has been a driving force in the international music & club scene. Well known for his collection of over 50,000 pieces of vinyl, he is acknowledged by many as a DJ’s DJ. Recent projects include the development of Finalscratch and founding Beatport.

we have House Music Pioneer with 35 Years of DJ Experience FRANCOIS K playing TONIGHT Halloween Friday Oct 28, he plays more dub house and dub techno nowadays

Though he's not a household name, John Acquaviva is one of the most influential figures in dance music. In 1989, he and pal Richie Hawtin founded the seminal techno label Plus 8. Later, he became an early adopter of computer-based DJ technology. He's also one of the people behind Beatport, the download site where DJs and hard-core electronic music fans go to get the latest tunes. Behind the decks, Acquaviva tends to favor a clean, occasionally minimal sound. He won't overwhelm the crowd with distorted bass lines.
