Luckily the Christmas is coming so I get an excuse to buy a new phone and laugh at Apple-fans.
Both Lumia 710 and 800 were announced today in London.
What do you guys think?

Also, its Windows Phone...it sucks major ass. The N9 is good, and there are still a few Symbian phones that are apparently vaiting to be released, but after that, Nokia as we know it is dead.

A lot of industry experts think otherwise. Even if windows is crap Symbian is dead on it's ass anyway sot hey have all to lose.

I am Microsoft certified engineer and still think that MS is in big heaping pile of . Don't know how Gates can focus on catching mosquitos, one by one, when Steve "Uncle Fester" is ing the out of the company he built.
I dont hold out any hope for ms tablet or phone - anything outside of business user and they are ed. ms buying out RIM would make best sort of marriage decision. That's the only way it can win - focus on business user... Consumer Market? Good luck.

I dont disagree with the symbian is dead bit. Even Belle, which is the first decent touch version of symbian, isnt all that great. But i take great issue with Nokia jumping into bed with Microsoft on this. I dont know of other places but over here you cant even give away the phones running WP7.
It seems that there can be no middle ground with these, you either love the os or loathe it. As you can probably figure out i dont exactly love it. I think that it lacks features and that the Metro UI is the biggest pile of crap ever unleashed upon any electronic device.

I fear for Nokia but I'm trying to remain optimistic in that they'll bring Windows Phone to the masses and make it a viable competitor, as opposed to WP bringing Nokia down to bankruptcy.
I absolutely love the design on the N9/800. Best looking phone I've ever seen.
edit: the only thing that pisses me off about WP is how MS is trying to shove their other products down everyones throat. Like Xbox Live integration...woopty-ing-doo...I don't own an Xbox so this feature is ing pointless. Stop making it out to be a "deal-breaker" cause it's not.

Nokia is still the biggest brand in developing countries but for smart phones I think they're dead in the water. Microsoft needed a partner and Nokia's financial situation made them the best prospect, but I just can't see it working out. Here in the UK, Windows phones are like the ginger stepchild of the mobile phone market... even Crackberry is more desirable than Windows. And I can't see the newly announced phones changing this.
I'm glad there's Google and RIM to keep Apple innovating (although that may change now Saint Steve is no longer with us)... the market is big enough for 3 main players. I can't see Nokia and MS, however, featuring in the big picture though.
Microsoft will continue to throw vast sums of money into the project, but ultimately I wouldn't be surprised if Nokia no longer existed in 5 or 10 years' time.

Also it seems nokia made a bit of a naming blunder.
Windows phones are . I'd take a BB, iPhone, Android or anything decent over that crap. I actually like Nokia hardware but signing that deal was suicide for them imo...
