Was feeling a little stagnant with the last couple tracks. I was very happy with the composition and melodies, but production wise they needed work and I felt kinda stuck. Working on this now.

Couple things I do notice... still needs a bass layer added. Opened up chord synth does seem a bit bright.

The percussion sounds extremely bright and thin, sort of like shaking a penny around in a tin can if you know what I mean. I like the little percussion sound you used that kind of leads into the kick, but I think you should use it more sparsely and spread out the percussion loop to something significantly longer. It gets very repetitive very quick. I definitely do think you could find better samples too though.

I'm really not feeling the chord progression at all. It seems sort of aimless to me and it lacks a memorable quality. It's a bit hard to follow. It also seemed very bland and emotionless, and that's usually something you're good at.

It is a bit bright once you open the chord synth up, you're right, a bit harsh sounding to me.

I know it's just a work in progress and these things are likely to come later, but it definitely needs transitional elements and something to break the repetition. If you're going to use such a short percussion loop and simple chord pattern I feel like you'll need a lot more FX and movement.

Lastly, yes, I know there was a big thing about music being "quantized" today and that being bad, but the stabs don't seem "unquantized" in any meaningful or intentional way. They just sound.... unquantized at parts. If they are quantized, I might just be crazy, but they definitely sound messy in a few places to me.

And in regards to groove (and I feel like I had the same problem in my tune Trapped), the percussion has absolutely nothing to do with your chords. Your chords are doing their own thing, and the percussion is almost irrelevant. It's just there in the background.

I liked some of the other tunes you were working on a lot more.

That's good feedback, thanks.

What I really admire here is the dark melancholic yet big sounding synths here, maybe vary up the chord progression a bit though.

I agree on the hi - hats / shakers - I think you need the cycle / loop to be at least twice as long and use a lot of velocity / volume editing to get those sounds more organic, groovy and less static.

Mix wise this is appealing to me - in terms of the synths and kik. Addressing the shakers will help the hi part of the mix.

Peronally I'd love to here more and more rythmic elements joint the party as it progresses, but that's just me. Especially unusual percy sounds such as one created with choirs / your own voice / industrial type thangs.

Most of your tracks seem to be really low in volume. I have to turn it to the max on my laptop to make it sound decent.

its a pretty nice track. ive listened to ur startings, and theyre usually much cooler than your finishings.

a)that little synth automation break you have at 1:30, should be included into your precursor to this part, the track needs to have some flow-movement as it goes on, that will make it seem more interesting over time.

b)what makes or brakes this track is the content you will be adding on this. it seems to be in that stage.
