I love Ferry, but this is the second time (electric zoo) he has played the exact same electro stuff. Terrible. He can be more than uplifting trance while not being electro. Almost every track had some Afrojack-sounding drop. I thought he'd switch it up for KH, but I guess this electro-dubstep thing is getting too big. I was thankful that he ended with reboot.
I'm sure a lot of people who like electro (btw not the old electro, like in LEF) loved it. I do not, hence, it was a maudite disaster.
Simon was as expected, really good, but a little too much of the same thing.
KH closed, went to C&C --> Mind blown!
I won't even address how unenjoyable Marco was. But I knew he wouldn't be. Not these days.
Hopefully Guv will bring in DJs who haven't switched to electro-house or "trouse" as mentioned previously. A lot of us still like trance trance, even the uplifting kind. Armin's set for guv15 was great. Put the electro guys in the mainroom.

OMG sooo glad I decided to come to this!! As soon as set times were announced I knew I had to change my mind. Arrived at 3:20AM from work to a too packed main room so I decided to hide up in Deluxe lounge. I always love when Guv opens this part of the club up. Cooler air, more room to dance and a fabulous view of the entire main room going off! After an hour I decided to head downstairs and join the rest of the party for the remainder. C&C pretty much DESTROYED!! Lots of classic remixes from Pink Floyd, Danny T, Gorillaz, Underworld, Chiapet and Grindhouse (I regret not videoing that one!). If I had to be picky, I'd say their set definitely needed more drums for sure but they still had me dancing and jumping up and down like a nutter! Soo many HARD tracks! WOW! Was LOVING when they dropped Mark Fanciulli - The Tide [Voorn Edit]. I heard this twice during my vacation to England including at Cable in London at 10:00AM. It's amazing how the memories flow back. I told friends that I'd leave by 7 at the latest because I assume they'd finish by then but they kept going (surprisingly because it was less than half full). Sooo hard to leave... Thankfully at 7:15 they played a track I wasn't liking at all so I was able to leave lol. By the time I was done at coat check and exiting the building the music stopped. By the time I walked around to the drink entrance another track started up (the encore?). So to answer an_an's question - my guess would be that they closed at 7:25ish.
$39 for 4 hours of C&C = totally worth it. Amazing music, lots of great friends, excellent vibe from start to finish and the best costumes in Toronto.

As promised, here are the videos I took of the night. Sorry that the first 3 are significantly shorter than the last 2. I didn't put the videos in order of when the Dj's spun, because I left the 2 longer videos for last.
First up, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano. These guys have a great vibe to them & I enjoy their stage presence. Despite not being a fan of their complete sound, but they do get dirty at times & that's when it goes off.
Next, Simon Patterson. In retrospect, I wish I had taken more video footage of him because he was banging it out in the KH & the crowd seemed to be loving him longtime. As much as I wanted to stay & watch the rest of his set, I had to get to the mainroom where C&C were droppin FIRE!
One of my highlights was Marco V. What can be said about this man, legendary Dj/Producer. Despite seeing him countless of times since prob 2000-2001, he still brings the pain with him. He's def not the same Marco V of old, but the man still plays a solid set mixed & fused with several different sounds. Maybe not the trance 'purist's' cup of tea, but undeniably still a great dj.
Now, one of my personal favorite Trance dj's & definitely my favorite trance producer since '99...Moonman, System F, the better 1/2 of Gouryella, Veracocha, Pulp Victim, Albion, Eon etc.... Ferry Corsten.
I haven't seeen him since Dance Valley 2009 (which was a magical experience) & although his style has changed over the years & doesn't play the uplifting euphoric trance of old, he's always pushed his boundaries in both production & dj'ing style, and for that I have massive respect to a true pioneer of the sound/scene. I particularly love the last clip in the video :)
Now, I saved the best for last. The last time these boys came to the Guv & spun in the mainroom they killed it into the wee hours of the morning, but to a much smaller crowd. This time around it's like the crowd heard of that destruction & wanted to see it for themselves & boy did they ever experience a treat. Chus & Ceballos were in top form dropping some of the sickest beats I've heard in the mainroom this year. The mainroom was at full capacity until about 6-6:30 while C&C didn't let up & kept dropping hot hot heat.

the above pic I took around 6am. I wasn't 'IN' the crowd per say, but looks pretty slammed still at that time.
