STEVE PORTER
Steve Porter (born c. 1978) is a music video producer, remixer and DJ originally from Amherst, Massachusetts. Porter, who began producing music at the age of sixteen while attending The Williston Northampton School, was discovered by Chris Fortier in 1999 and was signed to Fortier's Fade Records label. Since this time he has toured the world extensively on DJ tours and has released numerous remixes and original productions using his own name and monikers Chop Shop, Driven Child, Saturated Fatty, HDF & Bons and "Agent 001 with fellow Boston DJ/producer Eli Wilkie. Porter placed #2 in the DJ Times "America's Best DJ" award and has been consistently ranked among the worlds top dj's in numerous polls.
He calls the blend of various genres of dance music "Porterhouse". 2005 saw the release of Homegrown, a DJ-mixed artist album on FDS Recordings. In 2006 he released the "Porterhouse" compilation which included many of his close friends productions in the mix. 2007 saw the release of Porterhouse 2 released on EQ recordings out of Australia.
ELI WILKIE
Eli Wilkie is a DJ and record producer from Boston, MA who has been spinning for the past eight years around the nation, shaking up dance floors with his own blend of funky driving house music. His DJ career began at Boston's underground Hibernia nightclub, in which he DJ'ed alongside the likes of Steve Porter, Luis Diaz, Paul Rogers, Chris Reavey, Paul Dailey, Fernando Bairos and Podje (Ireland). This residency paved the way for gigs in Boston and beyond, as well as for his career as a producer.
For four years now, Eli has been actively involved in production, creating a wide range of house and techno music working alongside his close friend Steve Porter. Together Eli Wilkie and Steve Porter created the alias Agent001. The upbeat, bouncy and playful tracks under this alias have a unique sound, which was created through fusing the duos influences in music, and their ability to experiment with new ideas and themes. Tracks like 'When Pigs Fly', 'Bubblebath' and 'Daniel Wiggy' have had strong worldwide support by DJs such as Paul Van Dyk, Pete Tong, Sasha & Digweed, Sander Kleinenberg, Lee Burridge, Sandra Collins and James Zabiela. On the solo side Eli produced 2 remixes of 'Impulsive Ray' by producer Emrecan Cakir
Currently Eli has residencies in Boston and New York City, and frequents cities like San Francisco and Montreal. This last 2 years have been busy ones for this DJ; playing alongside Steve Porter, Lee Burridge, Sander Kleinenberg, Danny Howells, Armin Van Buuren, Sean Cusick, Sandra Collins, Dave Ralph, Chris Fortier and DJ Dan playing in such venues as Axis, Avalon and RISE (Boston), Stereo & StereoBar (Montreal), Sullivan Room & Le Souk (NYC), 1015 Folsom (San Francisco) and at a handful of venues at the Winter Music Conference including State. In August 2004, Eli was added to the Balance record Pool, and exclusive pool providing promo records for select DJ's across the US. Eli begins 2005 as the newest resident DJ of Avalon Boston, one of the worlds premier nightclubs until it closed in 2007. |
