I need a myth busted or confirmed: SynthEdit sucks?

I always see people worshiping Reaktor. What about SynthEdit? Why exactly does it get a ton of hate in forums. "oh it's made in synth edit, it sucks."

What I want to know is, if this is true or not. Why is this supposedly worse than Reaktor?

I'm playing around with a few SynthEdit synths and they sound fine.

If I wanted to build a synth from the ground up, why should I pick Reaktor over SE?

it isn't really efficient coding. Thats all. You can't compare it to Reaktor. Good programs tend to have lower level programming as it is just more efficient. And i think it is VST for pc only.

Synthedit doesnt sucks, maybe the synths that use it sucks because the capabilities and builtin presets...

Download synthedit plugins and try for yourself, check Ummet Ozcan Genesis, for example... and post it later if it sucks...
Its all about taste...

Ps.: I have Reaktor too...

synthedit is a programming language. You can't compare that to a finished tool. There was a time in my life where I could program an audio app in C++. I honestly remember nothing.

Synthedit doesnt' suck. However, due to it being free (I think), what you will have is legions of crappy synth designers trying to release bad software in an already overbloated market of poor quality synths.

There may be a few gems, but you will have to dig through a fair amount of turd to find it.
