I should of made this thread a while ago...
... so, is anyone attending this?
I'm certainly attending and it looks like it's going to be a quality night! I also have a plus one for AAA if anyone is interested.....

I went, and yeah making it the day before was a bit slack :p
Andy Moor was quite hard, esp considering his time slot. Set was good, apart from that shocking butchery of The Theme. Gareth Emery was also hard, was good apart from that hard remix of sanctuary. Aly & Fila were how I expected, mint.
I was pretty drunk when GO came on and I was doing my best not to be sick, so I was just standing behind the original DJ Booth watching him and I got the impression he was winging most of it. He randomly played the keyboard and when he didn't, the keys still played on the speakers. Nothing he did on the mixer or laptops seemed to effect the music at all. Whats even worse was with no CDJs or vinyl, track selection must have come from the laptops, but he never opened any screen to choose a track.
By around 4 drink had got the better of me and a McDonalds was calling. One day I'll learn how to get drunk and not go over the edge lol. |

You must of been close to me then!
I was with Giuseppe all night and when he was playing, I was the guy leaning on the entrance of the booth, trying my best to ensure that nobody was pestering him too much :p
I'm friends with Giuseppe and can ensure you he doesn't wing it :p
He selects his tracks from Ableton on his left laptop, if you see him playing keys and nothing coming out of the speakers, then he's more than likely pre-listening to the synth he's just lined up. When you hear leads playing and GO not playing any keys.... well, he doesn't always play the lead (although he does mostly), he could be playing pads, other synth stabs, or even nothing at all.
He uses the mixer to control levels of the audio from the tracks and the audio coming from the laptop with the synths on. He has a Korg MIDI controller, that he uses a lot for controlling the actual tracks.

Also....
I wasn't particularly interested in Andy Moor, so I was boshing it out to Laurent in the Red Room, which was great.
I managed to catch a fair bit of JOOF too, who was amazing!
Giuseppe and I were absolutely loving Aly's set, I certainly enjoyed it more than I thought I would.
GO was great as always and I went as soon as he packed up, heard a bit of Brian in the mean time, who was absolutely banging it out at 144. |

I don't know enough about DJ'ing to say otherwise, just to the untrained eye it looked a bit dodge. Probably got it wrong though.
Shame we didn't meet up, though by that point in the night I wasn't a pretty sight.
I do regret not seeing more of J00F and Digital Blonde. I'm not a massive fan of the red room as the room is so low, it becomes a bit of a bass box. J00F & DB on at the same time as Emery and Aly. Maybe should have sacrificed Emery for some J00F. I was too pissed to care though really lol. |

Didn't realise you were going, Matt. I was there, spent the whole night in the red room. If you were anywhere near the front during J00F's set you will have seen me, unwittingly. |

looks like we all did a good job of meeting up then.
Acton GO is on again on 17 Dec @ Gods B'ham. Aly & Fila too. I'm interested. |

Massive LOL at our failed meet up! :stongue:
Yeah Jack, I was at the front for quite a while during JOOFs set, so we probably unwittingly saw each other. We have the Cream night coming soon, so we'll make sure we get something sorted then ;)
Coup - Yeah, I would be going to that with Giuseppe, but I'm flying over to Berlin to see Paul on that night :( |
