Median income for the U.S. is way higher than for Japan, and Japan's tax brackets seem pretty close to those in the U.S. -- perhaps even a little more progressive. And as far as cost of living goes, Japan is pretty high up there. So it is probably true that Americans have significantly more disposable income than Japanese, even if they are not so prudent about saving and investing it.

| Honestly she seems pretty cool to me. Struggled as a foreigner in a country not known for being welcoming to them, then decided she wanted to live there and did it. I can definitely respect that. |
