Yes, I work 8 hours a day.
Since the only German wiser than Nietzsche is myself I shall slightly modify his rule: Sunday is a free day so let's say the week has 6 x 24 = 144 hours. One third of that is 48. If you work more than 48 hours a week you're a slave. I have some friends who actually do and indeed the best word to describe their status is slave.
He might be a "slave" now, but if you put the pedal to the metal when you are young, by the time you reach your mid 30's you can have enough financial security and success to live a better lifestyle than those just content to show up at work for 8 hours and call it a day.
If you want an above average lifestyle, chances are that you won't get it unless you put in the time.

nobody burns out
i study psychology at my university. still havnt seen it, people get really stressed, but getting the flu can cause that too. talking to yourself is only a sign of your own intelligence, classes do suck though, and working and doing school is something a lot of people do not recognize, even friends. i hate getting stressed out :sadgreen:
thankfully, some days are better than others, and we dont have to eat the same garbage everyday and all that , but yeah your sounds ing hardcore

I think st3nc is on the crack.
There is a legitimate medical term for burn outs. It's called a major depressive episode, and if you're a psych major you ought to know that :wtf:
jdat
Vivid it's nice to make that extra cash and if you can pull it off without going insane keep at it but it may be just a question of time before you crash and burn so watch out.
If your work for classes is taking a hit learn to determine where the priorities.
So far it seems like you're getting along just fine but do watch out.

but that's the funny stuff. People who take 2 classes in psych who think they're experts on the subject.

You learn so little about medical disorders when you study psychology unless its for a masters or a phd -- most of psychology study is statistics and research methods and what not fyi.
Alex
I see.
It's different here. Even a bachelor's in psych degree here covers the medical bases.

In China they are thinking about not offering degrees that do not result in jobs. If they did that here psychology would be on the chopping block.
Not saying its a stupid field, but too many idiots take it and think they are Jung.

Here in Quebec you basically need a PhD to work as a clinical psychologist. I'm not sure what it takes to be a researcher but ya.
If you do score a gig as a therapist/clinical psychologist in a hospital you are golden, but it's extremely difficult to do so.

To do research you just need to be able to do research -- stats and what not. To practice you need a phd or a psyd

Are you studying psychology? Or something related?
Vivid Boy
My sister is a psychologist, she scored a good job in a practice. She makes money hand over fist
btw just a heads up, I ended up dropping a class which has taken a little bit of stress away. I also have just finished a huge real estate deal with a celeb and am going to park my real estate license for a while, while I concentrate on my studies and full time job. I am going to start picking and choosing my deals depending on how easy they are and if I could use the extra cash the rest I will refer out. We'll see how that goes I already know how I operate and I ALWAYS overload myself.
