It was really great seeing so many people that I haven't seen in forever, and those that I see all the time.
Drinks were weak (I think my $12 had .8 shots of Maker's in it). I thought they were pretty uninspired for most of the night.
There were tracks and moments that I really enjoyed, but overall, there were many times I felt as though everyone lost the plot. Particularly around 12:40...holy , he made a transition and everyone stopped moving. This happened at least 4 more times throughout the evening. I don't know if it was the tag-teaming, but it wasn't good.
The event was run well, bathrooms weren't set up for the venue being that full (it is a pool hall, so not surprised). I give it a 6 overall, and the DJs should be thankful that the number of friends I saw increased that score.
I've seen Sasha at least 30x...so I've seen him play magical sets more than a few times, and last night was not one of them. When it got to 3:45, I was ready to get my jacket...the last 30 minutes completely uninspired. |

Are you sure about that? I'm convinced I scared you when I gave you the full Chaska party experience when we hung out, LOL. |

I couldnt agree more. He as some amazing moments, but overall it was a very bland set that went no where. he ended the night with a cheesy house song. It was good seeing you all! Till next time... |

I was pretty impressed by Sasha after I walked in expecting absolutely nothing from him. Good times.

I wasn't super impressed though. It seems he is trying so hard to stay relevant, but in reality a guy of his caliber should be setting trends, not following them. Too disco/house heavy IMO. I never thought Sasha would play Maceo Plex. EVER. |

| I had a edng ill time I don't know about you all, sounds kinda critical. His set was very on point, progressive with an allmost classic sasha feel. I got kicked out at like 315 so can't comment on the ending but from what I heard from both mandy and sasha they slayed that . Sound was on point also layout was nice bathrooms went fast I was happy with the 4 or so hours I got. Good seeing mad peeps out been a long long time |

Ha I agree that last song was a bit cheesy. The last 2 actually. But I thought the 1.5-2 hrs of music before that was amazing. I found a lot of tracks had that Sasha sound from the first Involver album. Sweeping melodies, rolling baselines and beautiful vocals.
I arrived at 2 so can't speak for the music before then. I think it was quite natural there was no flow after that, with the B2B style - it's not like those guys have been playing together for a while. I thought the melodic prog - techno combo was fun.
Looking forward to the next venue MNM tries out. |

| Was hammered from pregaming in astoria already. phone died before getting there. I don't know what time I rolled in or left (whatever time he finished) -- the entire night was a blur. great seeing everyone that night, was a lot of fun. |

| Well I want what you guys are smoking, because that was HORRIBLE. Bad vibe, way too many people, couldn't walk anywhere without getting bumped into. Loved MANDY's set but Sasha was god awful. 3....THREE Maceo Plex tracks in 30 minutes? Come on! There was no flow, it was all over the place and seems like he's trying too hard and playing those kind of tracks. So much cheese towards the end! The b2b seemed like a struggle. |

| ah sucks you felt that way. i thought there was plenty of room to move around especially on the first floor opposite the bar and downstairs. the main floor was definitely crowded, but that's to be expected of any big club night. i had an excellent time, thought that sasha brought it early. i'll agree that later in the night, the music seemed a bit out of wack. i didn't happen to notice when they started tag teaming, since i stayed to the side and out of view of the booth. |

It was fun. More fun in the beginning, less fun towards the end. Mostly fun because of the people. I thought that Dani and MANDY were the best of the night. Sasha didnt exactly hit me over the head with anything crazy, imo.
The space was good and the organization was quick and put-together from what I had experienced. The drink prices sucked for what you got:($10 for some ice and a splash of liquor? B*tch, please! Even in New York: I will pay you $10, but make me feel it) Needless to say, I moved on to beer quickly, as beer is a guarantee that what you see is what you get.
I didnt experience any crowding, I guess those crowded were either front and center or at the upper bar? No bathroom lines, no pushing, no overcrowding for me! Great crowd, lotsa new and ol skool peeps, which made the night for me :) :)
Anywho, I am glad I got to see so many faces out. I had a blast catching up!! :D :D Its the only reason I came, and to be honest, as much fun as I had, I realized that I am just SO COMPLETELY not into this any more. lol :wtf: The I used to appreciate about clubbing are now the things I hate the most. I have felt it coming gradually over the past year, and this party was the nail in the coffin. I would say its "pretty much" time to hang the shoes up, with a few very minor exceptions. Time to move on to bigger and better things! :) :) :) And to be honest....Im happy about it! (weird, right?) :wtf: :tongue2
Nice to see everyone! :) :) |
