I have never, ever heard a single song forthcoming from the people who start these threads, let alone one which incorporates the laborious how-to's they've been spoon-fed.

That's the problem with these threads. No one is going to be able to tell you what sound that is as there could well be several synthesis routes for it. It could be a sampled round-wound or a subtractive amalgam of a few different oscillators. It doesn't really matter what we say because, whatever we say, you are impossible to help.

No need to be like that, the only way you'll learn is to mess about.
Try 2 osc's 1 sine set to -1 and a square or triangle for the second at a lower volume, low pass it to around 200 - 300 hz, maybe even boost low freqs a little and compress it. Like eddie said could be anything really just play about with it.

Thanks .. at least if I had a start point I could have a mess around, I know its hard to tell, but a base point is good for me

Just try different combinations of the basic waveforms, maybe a little pitch modulation aswell (raise the decay slightly), see what works best with your kick. Keep it centred.

MSZ
put a donk on it mate, try frequency modulation.
meriter
automate the compressor eq's
