Dubstep (pg. 2)

Dubstep related threads, more than others, have a tendency to transcend into endless fields of embedded videos, with usually zero to none chance of some informative or constructive discussion. Very similar to post rock threads where every new post just tries to outblow the last one with bigger list of unmissable bands. And that's why there's so many of them - people are constantly discovering new tunes and dubstep is (still) cool to like.
Whatever, just wanted to say really that Machinedrum - Room(s) is ing excellent album. Now go youtube frenzy on this one too. |

| This thread has made me realise I've listened to very, very little dubstep in 2011. I think the theory that the interesting artists have fled the "dubstep" label and tempo in favour of housey tempos and future-garage/UK-bass/post-everything monikers is pretty accurate. |

Yep. Hardly any of them are actually making "dubstep" anymore. Most of it has slowed down quite a bit. I'm actually fairly excited to see where this trend goes. Also, especially if it means more stuff like this:

| I did go on dubstepforums the other day and saved a massive list of dubstep-related albums from 2011. Must have been about thirty albums I haven't heard. I think I just haven't been reading enough blogs and going to enough trendy nights. Spent nearly all my time on trance this year. |

kind of tired listening to all these great dubstep singles. how about a great dubstep mix? still haven't heard one as of yet.
heard plenty of cross-genre sets, but nothing that stays consistently in dubstep. |

Don't think I ever heard any of your dubstep sets.
Plenty of people have done good sets, but these two stand out in my memory, years later. Actually getting nostalgia thinking back to when I first heard them. 2008-2009 was sort of the time when dubstep was still very new and interesting to me, heard it for the first time in a club and so on, didn't really envisage the complete stagnation that would set in shortly afterwards. |

| well here is the first one, I was a little late to the whole dubstep thing so it was sort of my "catching up" mix. as you can see it got some pretty good feedback, and I even got a couple of upload requests later on which never really happens, if you were really interested I can upload it again but I'm more just going on record lol |
