An eclectic listener with a passion for music is one way to describe DJ Higgins. Armed with a Pearl Forum drum kit when he was just 10 years old, Higgins developed a love for the percussive side of music at an early age. This turned Higgins on to any type of music that had a bangin beat and at this time, 1994, that equated to the classic sounds of that gritty but soulful New York Hip-Hop. Forever indebted to producers like the Rza, Pete Rock and DJ Premier, Higgins was soon infatuated with the DJs and Producers that created and aired these beats to the masses. This led him to getting his first set of turntables on which he learned to beat match, scratch, and juggle the grimiest breaks and hip-hop he could find. He started rockin high school and university house parties and knew then that he loved to DJ. After a hiatus from DJing, Higgins is back at it and has now developed a love for house music as an addition to his passion for Hip-Hop and many other genres. Classic House, Tech House, Deep House, Electro House, Progressive House along with Indie Dance and Nu Disco are all genres that Higgins likes to turn a crowd out with. Recently stepping into the realm of production under the alias, Eclectic, look out for some of Higgins work to be completed in the upcoming year. Productions will be influenced by the various genres of music he listens to such as Hip-Hop, Rock, Raggae, Ska, Dub, R&B, Jazz, and Blues.
