Wait wait wait...
Comon Francis delete those roll calls... We get the point
I'm really not into this competition thing and i really don't care about promo. It's not about clubs it's about how we do things.
I just feel nobody likes the event section since people are trying to post their event in the main page anyway.
It wasn't to start anything but a discussion about the rules cause I see everybody jumping on the wagon and there's more of them. |

The roll calls never felt abused until this morning...
For nights which people are actually going to, they serve their purpose. |

because i don't do them for the obvious reason you see…
who decides which dj is more important ? |

Come on Francis I get your point but that's just kind of annoying.
Anyway I think if anything, look, we know who the DJs/promoters are for each event. So how about this: you can't make a roll-call thread for your own event! |

+1. On TOTA, roll calls started by promoters are highly frowned upon. Same with promotion within roll calls.
Ultimately, roll calls are for patrons who want to meet up with peers, not for promoters/clubs to shamelessly do some late minute promo about their party.
For promoters, use the event sub-forum for posting your events and pay off swamper for ads if you want to promote.
It's that simple.
Regarding the comments towards Ravemontreal, here's my take on it. AFAIK, the Blackout thread was in place before the event forum was put in place. I don't see that thread as a promotion gimmick, I see it as the thread for MTL techno heads to hangout. Yes, blackout events are listed in that thread, but at least its not a blatant abuse. |

Also, the 5 or so roll calls are simply pointing to the sub-forum thread. Looks much more as an attempt to raise awareness than actually do a roll call
Usually, roll calls are for interesting parties...not your regular every week parties.
Id expect those roll calls to have no...+1 im going...which will show that the roll calls were useless |

| I think it is part of the rules that promoters can't do roll calls. |

if we can't post events in the main forum, that would make the most sense. however, i've always said i never liked the fact that events couldn't be posted here simply because those are usually the best discussions, even if there is some spam. |
