Oh, I would never say this stuff is hard to mix. Prog, or at least this modern stuff, has grown up in a culture of the long blend, so it's designed for easy mixes. If I up on a prog mix, it's my own fault.

The fact that you have to do long mixes to make it interesting makes it 'harder' to mix. Its not a piece of piss like electro (but then why would you be playing that?) I think it can be tricky going in and out of prog-breaks

The track at 43.20 is Unreleased Gem, by the way Stu. And I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Another very enjoyable mix, Jack. I don't know if it was just me but the overall feel of the mix really took a turn going into 'Unreleased Gem', wicked tune...to me quite reminiscent of remixes of Pete Lazonby's 'Sacred Cycles'.

Really enjoyed the remaining tunes on the mix too! More great productions from Hypnotic Duo and Michael & Levan/Stiven Rivic, can't say no to that!:D

Grabbed this a few days ago but haven't been able to give it a proper listen yet, just skirmished a bit through it. Sounds exactly like the kind of music I was looking for.

Really loving this mix here, very reminiscent of the first disk of Balance 006, especially "Bound For Ascension" (god I love this song) and "Underground Sounds". I love the mix of breaks and 4x4 stuff, and it has a steady amount of the lush soundscapes your mixes are known for.
Chimney
Gave it a proper listen earlier tonight. Great tracks and mixing, but the absolute highlight for me was the track that kicks in at min 24. That bass line is pure greatness.

Yeah, I totally thieved Bound For Ascension from Anthony Pappa (not so much Underground Sound because I'm a long-time lover of Fretwell). I loved the opening to that Balance compilation, but felt he didn't really build the momentum enough after he played Ascension, so I wanted to really make it the focal point of this mix, the big moment.

The track at 24 minutes is Stefan Anion - Strangers. Great track indeed, very simple and effective, and I love the subtleties of his percussion programming - the way each clap in a bar is a different sample, and so on.

Downloading. Haven't listen to much new Prog in years just the older stuff, hopefully this will rekindle it.

Also I just have to say that your mix 'Lush' was done very nicely, the programming is splendid. Are you thinking of making another retro mix?
SYSTEM-J
No plans to do another retro mix. I will always throw an old track into a mix if I think it fits, though. I'm glad you enjoyed Lush but personally I wish I'd waited a little bit before doing that mix, I could have done it better with some tracks that I didn't have at the time.
Syntonic
I know what you mean, whenever I would do mixes in the past whilst buying new records left and right I'd look back a lot and say this record would have been better at this part, etc. Still a solid mix for one of your early shares.

SYSTEM-J
Haha, I've been sharing mixes on TA since 2007, man. Lush was far from an early effort. Did loads of retro mixes at one point.

Gave it a listen. Prog not really my biggest thing, but some nice buzzing basslines and pads and , enjoyed some of the tunes.
