A lot of people on here will burn this, or want to. But it's the small things that count, such as mentioning a friend who is struggling.

on one hand, it's admirable that they would add that in. cancer sucks, and it's awful to hear that :(

(i also want to point out that 4% of americans have cancer, about 12 million)

and then on the other hand, that entire monologue was just corny as , trying to be emotionally deep, which i guess works if you're rolling balls and have shallow and uncontrolled emotions (which is the crowd they draw, so i guess it all works out). I think you should let people develop their own ideas and feelings on the music. Maybe some people are totally incapable of that, i don't know.

I even have friends who like A&B and said they would have been annoyed at the text and that it was terrible.

in any case, the visuals look kinda cool. I woulda walked out and checked a different stage when they started putting that text on the screen.

A&B has been displaying texts during their shows for years now. I personally enjoy it and accept it as part of their set, as a way to connect to the audience in their own way. IMO, it's not different from what you'd see at concerts where the artist will address the audience. A&B manages to do it without completely interrupting their set.(one spins, the other will write something on the laptop/screen) Call me sentimental but I didn't need to be high to appreciate their messages. :D

i know man, thats why i said rolling and not high! :tongue3

A few drinks works as well.

But yeah I think it's kind of cheap to try to appeal to people's emotions, when it should be the music doing that.

Now, if they were putting ONLY one message to support a friend it would be different.

I enjoy it ok at shows when they post text. It's kinda cool... It's their trademark almost. They really are that soft hearted sappy group, it's just who they are as people. So it works well for them, and their fans like it because it's also their style.

i'm sorry, i couldnt help myself

but in all seriousness, i'm not judging anyone or anything. enjoy the music you like and dont give no s about what anyone says on the internet

If you actually take two seconds to find something wrong with that, you must really hate life and just be bitter towards anything and everything no nice how you come off. :)

I love their messages, and the only thing I've had at their shows is a few drinks. I'm kind of sick of everyone saying the only people who like emotional trance are on drugs. It's quite the opposite, I know a lot of sober people who love A&B and a lot of frequent rollers who only like harder music and find A&B "dull".

Stuff that's cheesy and cheap is bad, but with A&B it's more emotional and sappy, which I like a lot.

Because as their messages say, there are some things in life that really are like that, and MOST people that go to these types of events go to one or two a year. They're not every-weekend types like a lot of the people on this forum. And once or twice a year, that heavy dose of emotion is welcome.
